On 14 June 2023 the second meeting of the Palliative Care Around the World network took place at Leiden University. The meeting was organized by Dr. Natashe Lemos Dekker and Prof. Jeannette Pols with support from the ERC project Globalizing Palliative Care.’ The participants presented their research on palliative care in a variety of contexts, including Japan, Brazil, Indonesia, and Malta, and covering topics such as advance care planning, palliative care in nursing homes and for people with dementia, and the role of cultural and religious values in palliative care.
We thank the participants for the productive discussions and look forward to the next Palliative Care Around the World meeting, which will take place in the fall of 2023.
